MOTORCYCLE – TRICYCLE – QUAD

Roadworthiness test for two-wheel vehicles is compulsory and must be carried out every 4 years from the date of initial registration of the vehicle (initial test) and then every 2 years from the date of the previous roadworthiness test (periodic test).

The technical inspection of tricycles and quadricycles/quads (L4e, L5, and L7e) will begin according to the Regional/Peripheral authorities invitation program that the vehicles belong to.  From that point on the inspection of the vehicle will take place every 2 years.

In case the corresponding Regional/Peripheral Unit to which the tricycles and quadricycles/quads belong to have yet to post an invitation program, the respective vehicles are not obligated to undergo a Technical Inspection.

Driver training two-wheel vehicles are checked every year from the date of initial registration (initial test) and then every year from the date of the previous roadworthiness test (periodic test).

* Motorcycles (up to 50 cc) are not required to pass a roadworthiness test.

Fines for late vehicle testing are set in accordance with Ministerial Decision No. 8913/1089 O.G. 501Β 05.03.2013.

Roadworthiness test stages

You can schedule your appointment at the private ΚΤΕΟ center with a phone call, on the date and time of your choice.

  • You come to the private ΚΤΕΟ center at the time of your appointment
  • You hand over the necessary documents for handling
  • You wait at the waiting room till the completion of the test
  • The inspector informs you on the test results and hands you over the Roadworthiness Certificate together with the documents
  • The inspector attaches the Special Roadworthiness sticker to the registration plate and you are ready

Emission testing – Visual inspection

The following are checked :

  • Vehicle identification (Registration plate, Chassis Number, Engine Number according to the Registration Certificate)
  • The vehicle externally (visually)
  • Gas emissions

Automated vehicle inspection line

The following are checked:

  • Brakes performance
  • Hand brake performance (if it exists)
  • Lights as regards their brightness and inclination – Operation in general

Visual inspection on a lifting platform

The condition of the following is checked:

  • Steering system (steering column, handle bars, forks)
  • Frame- attachments – equipment
  • Axles – wheels – tires – suspension
  • Transmission system
  • Braking system (hand levers-foot levers, discs-drums, hoses– lines)

  • Noise level

 

Once the inspection has been completed, the roadworthiness certificate is issued and the relevant sticker is attached to the vehicle registration plate.
